- The Siemens SITRANS FC Coriolis offers a new portfolio of flowmeter systems providing extremely accurate mass flow and density measurement for a wide range of fluids and gas using the Coriolis principle of measurement. This is achieved by using a pair harmonically matched U shaped tubes that are then resonated via an excitation coil mounted in the middle of the tubes. As fluid enters the vibrating tube, it's forced to move in a curved path, creating an opposing force (Coriolis force) that makes the tube deform or "twist". Sensors mounted on the entry and exit of the tubes detect the time/phase shift between the inlet and outlet of the tube; this shift is directly proportional to the mass flow rate, while the tube's frequency change indicates fluid density, making it highly accurate for liquids and gases. Due to the complex nature of these flowmeters, please contact PRTS to assist with selecting the right model suited to your application/s.
- The Siemens SITRANS FS ultrasonic flowmeters are for measuring the flow of organic and inorganic liquids with laminar and turbulent flows as well as in the transition range via transit time of flight. This is achieved by mounting ultrasonic transmitters and receivers externally on the pipework FS200 series (which must be clean and made from a single material with a known thickness). Or inline with the FS100 series. A soundwave is sent from the transmitter, through the fluid and then the signal is picked up by the receiver mounted either opposite the transmitter (single pass) or bounced off the opposite wall and picked up on the same side of the transmitter via the receiver which is mounted at 90 degrees from the signal 'bounce' point. The time it takes between sending and receiving this signal is proportional to the flowrate and can then be measured and the signal transmitted via various output options. Notes to consider: The fluid must be clean and free of particles including entrained gas bubbles. Mounting of the TX/RX is critical to ensure accurate measurement is achieved, this includes preparing the pipe surface so that it is clean and free from rust or scale (clamp on type). As with other products in the Siemens range, a wide variety of systems are available, each with specific characteristics. So please contact PRTS to assist with selecting the right model for your application/s.
- The Siemens SITRANS FX Vortex flowmeters provide accurate standard volumetric and mass flow measurement of steam, gases and liquids as an all-in-one solution with integrated temperature and pressure compensation. The FX series of Vortex meters measure flow by detecting the frequency at which alternating vortices are shed from a bluff body (von Kármán vortex shedding principle), which is hit by the medium. The vortices create a differential force across a sensor wing, flexing it at a frequency proportional to the flow rate measured by the meter. The movement of the oscillating wing is transmitted to the SITRANS FX electronics by a dual piezoelectric crystal sensor mounted in the wing. As with other products in the Siemens range, careful selection and sizing calculations need to be carried out before a suitable model for your application/s can be specified. So please contact PRTS for assistance to select the right model.
- The Siemens SITRANS FP differential pressure transmitter and primary element range provides many options for flow measurements, from traditional orifice plates, averaging pitot tubes as well as many other third party primary elements such as venturi tubes, cone, wedge and flow nozzles. As with other products in the Siemens range, careful selection and sizing calculations need to be carried out before a suitable model for your application/s can be specified. So please contact PRTS for assistance to select the right model.

PKP Flowmeter Range.
- Flow indicators, also known as sight glasses, are used for visual and quantitative flow indication of liquids and gases. The flowing medium can be observed through a sight glass. For particularly clear liquids or gases, the flow indicators/sight glasses are equipped with rotors, flaps or balls to make the flow visible.
- Variable Area Flow meters work on the principle of a float and cone, whereby as the float moves within the cone, the area increases with the flowrate and are used for flow measurement, display and monitoring of a wide variety of liquids and gases. The flow rate can be read through built-in sight glasses with scales. Attached contacts switch reliably at the set switching points. All-metal devices, optionally with pointer display, are available for use at high pressures.
- Paddle Flap Flowmeters monitors flows using either an impact disk, paddle or flap to measure the flow of liquids and gases. The deflection of the paddle is proportional to the flow. Built-in contacts, microswitches and measuring sensors are available for further processing of the output signal. The variety of designs, materials and measuring ranges offer a wide range of applications.
- Paddle/Oval Wheel, Nutating Disc, Turbine, and Gear Wheel Flowmeters are mechanical devices that use different methods to measure flows. In the case of impeller and turbine flow meters, a moving wheel is driven by the flowing medium (low-viscosity liquids), thus generating a pulse/frequency output according to the flow. Downstream electronics can further process this signal into analog signals and/or switching points. Commonly used for irrigation and cost-effective dosing applications.
- Electronic flow meters include magnetic inductive, ultrasonic and calorimetric flow meters/thermal mass flow meters. In addition to the various analog outputs, frequency and pulse outputs and switching points are also available. The flow of liquids and gases is reliably measured with this group of devices.

Wika Primary Flow Element Range.
-
WIKA's primary flow elements are devices that measure flow using the differential pressure principle and include orifice plates, Venturi tubes, pitot tubes, restriction orifices, wedge flow meters, and flow nozzles. These are used to measure flow rates in various liquids, gases, and steam, with different elements being suitable for specific applications based on factors like pressure loss and medium characteristics. When coupled with a suitable differential pressure transmitter, these elements convert the pressure loss from upstream to downstream into a flow measurement. In more complex transmitters, known as "Multivariable", incorporate static pressure and temperature measurements to calculate compensated mass flow for various steam and gas applications. Due to the complex nature and calculations required to specify the right solution, please contact PRTS to assist with selecting the right model suited to your application/s.
